SANDAG: Construction & Relocation Management
The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) is a regional government agency that is primarily focused on transportation planning and construction in the San Diego region. The agency signed a 15-year lease moving to West, a mixed-use project in downtown San Diego. SANDAG is leasing two full floors and a portion of the ground florr for its board room and public meetings.
As SANDAG was planning for their relocation from the current downtown location to a new 87,000 square foot location, they engaged CBSI to lead the planning, scope development, construction oversight, FF&E procurement and installation, and relocations for their new headquarters. The scope of the headquarters relocation included:
- Multi-phased move management plan for relocation of over 350 staff to the new headquarters building from 7 floors in the Wells Fargo building downtown.
- Coordination with Owner, general contractor, leasing agents, FF&E provider, and service providers to align the construction and relocation schedules.
- Construction oversight of the tenant improvement.
- Design, space planning, and FF&E management.
- Mover scoping, coordination, and oversight.
- Change and transition management.
- Decommissioning planning and execution.
