PLCPC: Capital Improvement Project
Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church (PLCPC) has served as a beacon of light and hope for 85 years. Almost every decade throughout the church’s 85-year history, members of PLCPC have been called upon to build or renovate their sacred spaces and facilities so that they would be equipped to serve the people and ministries of their evolving and intergenerational community for years to come.
As PLCPC was launching their $4.5M Generation to Generation Capital Campaign, they reached out to CBSI to provide design and construction management services for the project. The Capital Campaign is an opportunity to transform the preschool campus so that children, young families and teachers have the facilties and environment they need to reach their God-given potential. The scope of the project includes:
- Renovation of the 1940’s & 1960’s buildings to provide updated classrooms, offices, workrooms, and storage for the Red Brick Preschool and children’s ministries.
- New secure, sustainable, and interactive playgrounds.
- Upgraded courtyard and multi-purpose rooms.
- New elevator to the 2nd floor.
- Accessible spaces to welcome and enable the participation of people of all physical abilities.
- Flexible space designs to adapt to the changing needs of the church, school and community.
- Improved wayfinding to foster and environment of hospitality and integration of church and school families.
